title Producción colaborativa de material de enseñanza-aprendizaje de Gráfica Digital con aportes multidisciplinarios [Collaborative production for taught-learning materials for digital graphic with multidisciplinary contributions]
source SIGraDi 2006 - [Proceedings of the 10th Iberoamerican Congress of Digital Graphics] Santiago de Chile - Chile 21-23 November 2006, pp. 117-121
summary For a contribution to problem solving processes at different areas, this paper presents the use of Digital Graphics as a knowledge object for a distance teaching/learning workshop. At the Learning Management System, different theoretical subjects with supporting tools were proposed, and exercises requiring collaborative work. An specific didactic situation using available technologies at Internet for 3D modelling, combined with satellite images and geographic information program was proposed. The final works were then shared by a 3D models repository. As a complement of this experience and in relation with their professional work, every student proposed a new didactic situation including Learning Objects, sharing them with the others members of the group, through conceptual maps built up in a co-operative way.

summary Understanding memory as the faculty by which a system stores and remembers information from the past to a new purpose with shapes that are emerging as “collective designs"(a repository of built information), this research works with the demonstration in how CA can generate a trace of its existence as memory based on the activation and deactivation of the discrete system in which grows, like a footprint in the affected area of intervention, improving a “stigmergic operation” in the field, conditioning the following steps in the collaborative growing of this basal structure. Based on sets of digital experiments, a set of CA using Langton Ants generates different solutions based on the activation and deactivation of rules according to information coming from patterns, creating spatial solutions that deal with built memory three-dimensional emergent structures.

summary The virtual reconstruction of the archeological site of Madinat al-Zahra. in Córdoba (Spain) has permitted a new approach to the study and comprehension of this palatine city as well as to the typologies of Islamic architecture in Al-Andalus during the 10th century. Starting from fieldwork and from a photogrammetric survey of the site, the digital model has become a highly qualified tool in the research process. Through virtual navigation, it allows to learn new aspects about spatial configuration of this characteristic constructions that configure the basis for the development of further architectures during the following centuries. Furthermore, being conscious that knowledge is basic for cultural heritage preservation, this 3D reconstruction model is an important instrument for general dissemination and for implementing a visit to this significant case of Islamic architecture in Spain.

source SIGraDi 2016 [Proceedings of the 20th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-7051-86-1] Argentina, Buenos Aires 9 - 11 November 2016, pp. 7-13
summary This paper expounds the teaching strategies used to introduce architecture students in the craft of design in the course Taller de Proyecto 1. These strategies are based on experiential mappings constructed from different digital resources allowing constantly confront design with real life, in order to maintain, throughout the process, a sensitive and precise relationship between reality and experience. It concludes that these methodologies strengthen the autonomy of students, developing a valuable reconnection with the way they look and transform the world, validating the premise that the act of design is an innate human act and not necessarily an erudite one.

title Utilizacion de la Grafica Digital en la Gestion del Mantenimiento de Edificios (Use of Digital Graphics in the Management of the Maintenance of Buildings)
source II Seminario Iberoamericano de Grafico Digital [SIGRADI Conference Proceedings / ISBN 978-97190-0-X] Mar del Plata (Argentina) 9-11 september 1998, pp. 446-451
summary The study and development of an informatic application as part of the Research Project informatic application for the building maintenance action", consist on the peripheric and software surface outline, frequently used in this discipline, like the Data Base of the programs Access of Microsoft and Autocad of Autodesk. The outline of data base implies the concept of sensitive matrix, necessary for the systemic analysis of the information. This software not only let you make the initial diagnostic of the buildings, necessary for the Plan of Corrective Maintenance (PMC) and Plan of Preventive Maintenance (PMP), but also it is used as an efficient tool of the maintenance, which allow the constant up to date information, the exact on time diagnostic, to make the necessary adjustments to the PMC and PMP. Besides, a good technical documentation is necessary for an efficient maintenance action. The entail of the Data Base with the CAD Systems allows a fast access to a big volume of centralized information to consult or change. To formulate a pattern of integral maintenance action on buildings, implies the systematic conception of them and the Philosophy of the Preventive Maintenance. They are less than the Model and do not consider the former concepts. It is difficult to define and solve the matrix system (inside or outside the software) and the relations where the information run. The informatic application outline in its different steps (planning, operation, evaluation) with the elements (technical, administrative, of control) are the structural axis of a new form of the Maintenance Action.

summary Collaboration between government agencies and academia seeks to facilitate a comprehensive approach by city representatives and stakeholders. Internet and social media connectivity may be applied as a self-organization tool. The response of architecture to the public space needs to consider hybrid spaces that combine digital and physical, representations, allowing urban experiences that are enhanced by virtual data imprinted on existing physical information. The study of these aspects may be the purpose of future city projects or become a form of communication of government proposals to the neighbors, beyond the scope of the discipline.
