summary This paper is the result of an experience at Mackenzie Computer Graphic’s Laboratory during the last three years. The students used the digital resources during their Final Project developing. We analyzed render images related to digital insertion of design projects in urban context at Sao Paulo and suburbs, with intend to explain the importance of this resource for visualization and evaluation of relationship between new building and real context. summary This research investigates the relation between parametric modeling (PM) and digital fabrication (DF) of complex shapes in architecture. The complexity involving the recent designs in architecture has demanded new procedures, as much during the conception as to make possible its construction. Thus, the PM and the DF have allowed architects and engineers conceiving, detailing and constructing complex structures with more precision and faster. In this paper, the author contributes for a discussion in this field, still incipient in Brazil, particularly in the process of PM teach-learning.

summary Digital fabrication (DF) is suitable to produce regular and intricate components with reduction of time and higher precision. The authors adopted parametric modeling (PM) and the laser cutter to investigate new standards of ornaments to be used in the contemporary architecture. In this way, some Paracloud resources are analyzed with the purpose of generating new geometric patterns. This paper contributes to discussion about PM and DF in the production of architectural components.
