summary This article has two aims, first to discuss the use of mnemonic structures in multimedia processes with complex contents in the example of the research project and activity PinhalDigital. Moreover it intends to describe the transdisciplinar method used for the production of the application, developing didactic extracurricular and interdisciplinary activities in the areas of history, architecture and technology through the use of multimedia construction processes. PinhalDigital was born of an initiative between the University of São Paulo, the Federal University of São Carlos and the Fazenda Pinhal, as objective to structuralize and to organize the diverse layers and the multiple aspects of the rich history of the Fazenda Pinhal in São Carlos. As a mnemonic basis was chosen a painting that represents the Fazenda Pinhal in 1900 by famous painter Benedicto Calixto de Jesus, which almost realistic portrays shows diverse objects and important and identification spaces of the diverse aspects and activities carried out through this plantation.

summary Traditional Musical Computation Systems had to face the differences between the computational techniques and the characteristics of musical creation. Characteristics such as a high degree of subjectivity, a great irrational component, and a learning process based on the use of examples and environmental absorption, have made music difficult to be formalized through algorithmic methods or classical Artificial Intelligence methods such as Expert Systems. We propose the creation of a cybernetic model of a human composer in a primeval stage of human musical evolution, following a paradigm of cognitive complex models creation, based on the use of the human reference, not only in a static point of view but also considering its evolution through time. Therefore, the proposed system simulates musical creation in one of the first stages of musical evolution, whose main characteristics are the percussive and choral aspects. The system is based on Genetic Algorithms, whose genetic population is integrated by several tribes. This model carries out the task of musical composition, led by the user who expresses his/her musical taste assigning a punctuation to each tribe. The GA selects the worse tribes as individuals to be eliminated. In order to select those tribes which are going to be used as parents, a random function is used, having each tribe a probality proportional to its punctuation. The new tribe is produced by crossing the parent tribes in each individual. Afterwards, mutation takes place in the created individuals. The experiments carried out with this system have proved its functionality in the composition of rhythmic patterns. It is intended to enlarge the experiment's scope by communicating the system via Internet. This would enable its use by users of different musical cultures, taking into account that the system is user-friendly, since it requires no musical knowledge.

summary The present article describes the construction of a system that combines parametric modeling strategies and genetic algorithms for optimization. By means of the reformulation of the Darwinian evolutionary process, it is sought to systematize a project process that allows the architect to act in the parameterization of the problems, beyond the mere formal proposition of solutions, in favor of the exploration of a greater variety of projective possibilities than would be possible using traditional design methods.

summary 3D Geographic Information Systems (3D GIS) are systems capable of performing spatial analyzes that consider a three-dimensional representation of objects, through their planialtimetric coordinates. City Geography Markup Language (CityGML) is used for city and urban applications. The main challenges for this system implementation refer to the techniques used to obtain data, and their formats, in addition to the various software used in geometric modeling. In this way, this article aims to discuss geometric modeling for a university campus using airborne laser scanning data, aiming at the creation of database for applications development.

summary The physical design of the learning environment has been shown to contribute significantly to student performance and educational outcomes. However, the existing literature on this topic relies primarily on generalized observations rather than on rigorous empirical testing. Broad trends in environmental impacts have been noted, but there is a lack of detailed evidence about how specific design variables can affect learning performance. The goal of this study was to apply a new approach in examining classroom design innovations. We developed a protocol to evaluate the effectiveness of classroom designs by measuring the physical responses of study participants as they interacted with different designs using a virtual reality platform. Our hypothesis was that virtual “test runs” can help designers to identify potential problems and successes in their work prior to its being physically constructed. The results of our initial pilot study indicated that this approach could yield important results about human responses to classroom design, and that the virtual environment seemed to be a reliable testing substitute when compared against real classroom environments. In addition to leading toward practical conclusions about specific classroom design variables, this project provides a new kind of research method and toolset to test the potential human impacts of a wide variety of architectural innovations.

The Cultural Itinerary is going to be available in the virtual platform of Iberê Camargo Museum, and it is presented in this case study. The relevance of this study is the appreciation of the memory of these museums, which is what makes the society preserve them. The choice of the virtual media is because of the ease in access and dissemination of museums for people visiting the city.

summary This paper studies the HBIM concept and proposes a digital model of the Church of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, in the city of Serro, aiming at its preservation. For this purpose, it (1) investigates and defines what information should be incorporated into the geometric model (attributes), so that it can be useful during the life cycle of the building and can contribute to the analysis and conservation of the object it represents; (2) defines the level of detail (LOD) to be used in HBIM models; (3) builds a HBIM model with a level of detail appropriate for the Church.

summary This work presents a mapping of the spaces of public use and of the green areas of the municipality of Vila Velha - ES, having as a cutback the Regional 02 - Grande Ibes. The mapping was performed in the ArcGIS georeferencing program, through analysis of the images of Google Earth based on the data obtained in the Municipal Master Plan and visits to the sites. As result, an expressive number of spaces for social practice was perceived, in contrast there is a deficit in the maintenance and imbalance in the distribution of these spaces. The identified green areas are located at the ends of the regional, benefiting only the surrounding neighborhoods.
