source SIGraDi 2014 [Proceedings of the 18th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-9974-99-655-7] Uruguay - Montevideo 12 - 14 November 2014, pp. 195-199
summary Design Thinking recognizes processes linked to empathy, creation, prototyping and storytelling, that condition design methodologies to solve complex problems with user participation. From this perspective, next to disruptive practices, we present learning experiences focus in management, design and production of graphic databases in Web 2.0 and 3.0 contexts. They are linked to photomontages and graphic communication pieces of urban-architectural works and narratives that give meaning and entity to those interventions. We recorded results that value spatial thinking with images. Also the presence of traditional skills with hybrid skills in students, that encourage fluency, creativity and innovation, self-learning, experimentation, teamwork and network integration.

summary We present studies and advances that link two I+D+T projects based in FADU and FI UNMdP, Argentina. These studies, started this year, have the common aim from two complementary visions, enriching an indexed and classified heritage about Open Educational Resources and repositories in postdigital environments and academic areas. This is a collaborative and interdisciplinary work with the purpose of supporting the improvement of presence, semi-presence, and distance educational process, and helping free and equal access to different available educational resources. At this state, in particular, we are interested in contributing to the improvement of REA interface designs and repositories through providing heuristic lists that join later an analysis and evaluation interface model.

title Generador de entornos virtuales en tiempo real basado en capas [Generating real - time virtual environments based on layers]
source SIGraDi 2010_Proceedings of the 14th Congress of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics, pp. Bogotá, Colombia, November 17-19, 2010, pp. 316-319
summary The generation of virtual environments in real time is presently a highly researched subject. It has great potential to reduce the development time of virtual reality products and to create very large environments with a wide variety of content. These benefits have become very popular in the development of video games and simulators. This work proposes a new generation system—a layer generator that incorporates the best features of such systems with real - time and new generation techniques. To the present, the layer generator has been applied to games, and may potentially be used with other systems.

summary Virtual Environments and their Interconnectivity in the Web for the Urban Planning. This work presents the creation of virtual environments based on the urban space of the Plaza Baralt in Maracaibo, Venezuela; in defined historical moments as study scenarios, using autonomous virtual agents. The selection of the scenarios is based in the analysis of the place in the present, and the study of multimedia material of the period 1920-2006. The main objective is developing virtual environments, incorporating the interconnectivity in the Web into a multi-user system, for the urban planning. Methodologically, it's divided into the following phases: 1) Data search; 2) Study of the social, cultural, religious and economical activities of the square; 3) Analysis of the urban space; 4) Virtual reconstruction of the scenarios in the present and in the period between 1900 - 1927; 5) VRML exporting ; 6) Characters' animation; 7) Integration of the models into a multi-user system; and 8) Web event for the presentation of the results.

title Diseño de Interfase - Metodología de acercamiento a la construcción de entornos virtuales [Interphase Design - Methodology of Approach to the building of Virtual Environments]
source SIGraDi 2002 - [Proceedings of the 6th Iberoamerican Congress of Digital Graphics] Caracas (Venezuela) 27-29 november 2002, pp. 175-179
summary The project we are presenting is based on our professional experience in virtual interface design of multimedia, in CD-ROM and Web format, which has been developed in our design workshops. Our project methodology has one common basis: The metaphorical and conceptual argument for the creation of virtual environments is supported by the observation of the physical environment of human beings and the objects that surround them. The research we have carried out is aimed at establishing a project methodology for interface design based on the hypothesis that observation and knowledge of the relationship between man and environment (architectural and urban), man and object (literacy and symbolic representation) is the basis for the design of recognizable virtual environments. These are functional, representative and efficient elements for the achievement of communicative objectives of such virtual environments. The project reference that supports our research is the outcome of academic and professional project analysis. These projectswill support the demonstration of the suggested methodology which, in the course of the presentation, will be applied to a project to be developed and whose metaphorical basis is the city of Valparaiso. The objective is to use the urban environment as a metaphorical argument for the design of a virtual environment for the Cultural and Historical Registry of Literature, Plastic Arts and Chilean Architecture where Valparaiso has served as reference, source of inspiration and object of study. Together with the methodological project, we will present the instruments that have been created for reference analyis with the purpose of interface design and in order to facilitate a mechanism to evaluate interface design projects.
