summary This article proposes to study the process of parametric design integrated analysis and structural design. This application model is called Performative Model; the form is generated based on performance criteria. The digital tools facilitate the information flow between designers using parametric model and Finite Element Analysis. To research the method of Performative Model is proposed the development of a conceptual framework of lattice wind tower with the aim of a quantitative and qualitative structure optimization. Therefore, the parametric modeling will be done using Rhinoceros software, the plugin for creating algorithms Grasshoper and structural analysis plugin Scan & Solve.

summary This paper evaluates the use of Scan-and-Solve plug-in for structural analysis in Rhinoceros’s environment. A reception desk parametrically modeled was evaluated with Scan-and-Solve and with Ansys. From the results, we concluded that the main difference between the programs is that Ansys allows more detailed definition of the connections between parts of the object. Besides the virtual models, the results were showed with a physical model printed with the rapid prototypes techniques. The paper describes the integration of parametric modeling, structural analysis and rapid prototyping procedures in the design process.

summary This paper presents the limitations and the potentialities of the joint job of the programs 3DS MAX and SAP2000 in the conception and analysis of structural system of membrane. The modeling for method of the dependent surfaces of curves NURBS was compared with surfaces defined for mathematical expressions in 3DS MAX; the creative potentialities of the clones, the stacks of modifiers and extension MATH MAX had been collated with the restrictions of project, as well as presented data-exchange procedures for simulation of efforts in SAP2000.

It discusses the expansion of the architect’s work field. Once the professional holds the application of advanced technologies focusing on construction and manufacturing, will be able to take responsibility for parts of the engineering design.

summary This paper presents part of the research on simulation of structural performance and aims to study the mechanical behavior of polymers, ABS and PLA in the form of thermoplastic filaments, commonly used in affordable 3D printers. It presents the preliminary results for the evaluation of the mechanical behavior of ABS and PLA in the light of ASTM E2954 and ASTM D790 standards, which establish test methods for axial compression and three-point flexure for plastic and polymer matrix.
