title Desafios do Programa Minha Casa Minha Vida frente ao processo BIM – Building Information Modeling: migrando para o IPD – Integrated Project Delivery [BIM process challenges of My Home My Life Program: migrating to IPD – integrated project delivery]
source SIGraDi 2012 [Proceedings of the 16th Iberoamerican Congress of Digital Graphics] Brasil - Fortaleza 13-16 November 2012, pp. 505-508
summary This paper points out the necessity of profound changes in the process of My Home My Life Program, in order to take profit of the use of BIM in its practice. Firstly we describe the current development process of this Brazilian dwelling program and following we describe what IPD is and show how the its adoption in MHMLP could improve the assertiveness of its expected results.

title Fabricação Digital na Produção de Habitação de Interesse Social no Brasil [Digital Fabrication in Social Housing Production of Brazil]
source SiGraDi 2014 [Proceedings of the 18th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-9974-99-655-7] Uruguay - Montevideo 12 - 14 November 2014, pp. 350-353
summary This paper reports an ongoing research on possible uses of digital fabrication in the production of social housing in Brazil, focusing on Minha Casa Minha Vida Program. We describe the typological characteristics of this program, presenting the definition of rapid prototyping and digital fabrication and its main methods. Then, we present the concept of generative architecture and shape grammar and indicate their possible use in the production of this type of housing in conjunction with digital fabrication. Finally, we highlight the importance of introducing these new technologies in the productive chain of Brazilian civil construction at a time when we need productivity gains to overcome the bottlenecks that today limits the development of the country

title BIM e Desempenho no Programa Minha Casa Minha Vida - PMCMV [BIM and Performance in the Brazilian Dwelling Program “My Home My Life”]
source SIGraDi 2013 [Proceedings of the 17th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-7051-86-1] Chile - Valparaíso 20 - 22 November 2013, pp. 312 - 316
summary This paper describes the current stage of an ongoing research developed at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, with support of FINEP, to use information and communication technologies (ICT) for the production of affordable houses in Brazil, focusing on the government’s program “Minha Casa Minha Vida” (My Home My Life – MCMV). Here we highlight the specific issue of adapting and extending the current BIM library of components provided by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade (MDIC), since the validity of the standard NBR 15575/13, which as of 2013, will guide the production of buildings in Brazil through strict performance requirements. We make a brief summary of the MCMV program, the terms of the standard and the structure of that library and then present guidelines for adapting and extending the existing components, taking into account international examples and the requirements from the new standard. As a result, we expect the revised components will facilitate the work of professionals in the building industry when designing and planning buildings.

title BIM for thermal performance analysis in Minha Casa Minha Vida Program buildings
source SIGRADI 2015 [Proceedings of the 19th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - vol. 1 - ISBN: 978-85-8039-135-0] Florianópolis, SC, Brasil 23-27 November 2015, pp. 25-29.
summary The Minha Casa Minha Vida institutional housing program aims to build millions of residences in Brazilian cities. This situation decreases the building quality as the Federal Government, who founds the program, demands very low costs, so it is even more complicate to achieve quality enhancement. To solve this situation, many regulations have been instituted and, in 2013, ABNT published NBR 15575, a regulation regarding housing building performance, including aspects such as thermal, acoustic and maintenance performance. This paper aims to study thermal analysis section and the possibility to use BIM to achieve accurate data about thermal performance.
