title Transformations in the educational system, Influence of the Digital Graph [Transformaciones en el sistema educacional, influencia de la Gráfica Digital]
source SIGraDi 2007 - [Proceedings of the 11th Iberoamerican Congress of Digital Graphics] México D.F. - México 23-25 October 2007, pp. 182-186
summary The educative proposal was based on the summary attained through experiences piled up during the 2 last semester courses, 2/2006-1/2007. This proposal corresponds to a mix of methodology (by personal attendance / by internet). Founding on the Theory of the Game (Eric Berne 1960) and on different theories such as: Multiple intelligences (Haward Gardner 1983), Emotional Intelligence (Peter Salowey and John Mayer 1990, Goleman 1998), Social Intelligence (Goleman 2006), the Triarchy of Intelligence (Stemberg, R.J. 1985, 1997), “the hand of the human power”, it´s established that the power of the voice, that of the imagination, the reward, the commitment and association produce a significant increase of the productivity (Rosabeth Moss Kanter 2000), aside from the constructive processes of the knowledge (new pedagogical concepts constructivista of Ormrod J.E. 2003 and Tim O´Reilly 2004).

summary Brazil has so many historical cities with important architectural heritage. Some of them are remains of the colonial times and aggregate beautiful buildings such as, palaces, public buildings and churches in baroque style, legacy of the Portuguese colonization. Despite of its cultural value, most of these building sets are under several kinds of threats. This paper discusses about the experience on digital photogrammetric restitution of the building façades of Pelourinho, a neighborhood in the historical center of Salvador, the capital city of the State of Bahia. The architectural documentation is an important way to preserve and safeguard its memory, besides being an effective educational process about the meaning of preservation and cultural heritage.

title Three dimensional isovist analysis method [Método de Análisis Tridimensional con isovistas]
source SIGraDi 2007 - [Proceedings of the 11th Iberoamerican Congress of Digital Graphics] México D.F. - México 23-25 October 2007, pp. 174-176
summary This paper presents a three dimensional method of isovist analysis implemented in the MaxScript programming language. The script accepts as its input a standard three dimensional model of the buildings and terrain being analyzed, upon which a N×N grid is projected. Each square of this grid is assigned a height value, thereby producing a simplified surface description which is amenable to mathematical analysis. A three dimensional isovist is then generated for each grid square, by placing an observation point 1.5 meters above its center and finding the intersection of a series of rays from this point to the input model. The distance from the observation point to the intersection is summed over for all the angles studied giving a compound isovist measurement for the grid square under consideration.

source SIGraDi 2007 - [Proceedings of the 11th Iberoamerican Congress of Digital Graphics] México D.F. - México 23-25 October 2007, pp. 364-369
summary Pedestrian simulation tools are usually used to evaluate pedestrians’ evacuation/security in buildings (closed environments). The paper’s objective is to develop a methodology for the application of these tools in urban planning (open spaces), where the pedestrian behavior is more complex. The area studied is Plaza Baralt, in Maracaibo Venezuela, an area enclosed by historic buildings. The proposed scenarios and pedestrian flow simulations – based in cellular automata – followed a locally adapted data recollection and site analysis. As a result the methodology allows the designer to analyze various scenarios, fast and efficiently, identifying problems of areas, flow, land use and user profiles.

source SIGraDi 2007 - [Proceedings of the 11th Iberoamerican Congress of Digital Graphics] México D.F. - México 23-25 October 2007, pp. 444-447
summary Fantastic literature has been a reflection object from diverse perspectives. Someone has been in its narrative, myths, processes, intertextuality and a series of conceptualizaciones and interpretations, from the russian formalism to the deconstructivism. This communication presents a possible classification of the fantastic spaces, which goes from the human inside towards the impossible sites. The idea becomes from a dialogue between books of the imagination and Roland Barthes semiology. For each ordering, a text is suggested as a model; as much of classic authors as contemporary. The classification allows a better understanding of fantastic literature and its plays of reality, as well as the narratologics possibilities as much instrumental of creative and applied reading to fields like the cinema, the publicity, the painting, the design, the staging and the ethical formation.
