title Pensar dispositivo: a emergência de novas formas na arquitetura [Thinking device: the emergence of new forms in architecture]
source SIGraDi 2010_Proceedings of the 14th Congress of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics, pp. Bogotá, Colombia, November 17-19, 2010, pp. 181-184
summary The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the emergence of new forms, on the possibility of the new. We propose a reflection on the poetics of disruption, like creating strategies to break from the predictable, and we analyze devices adopted in art, media art and architecture. We understand a device as the set of practices that trace imbalanced processes that may create the new. Thus, by broaching the creative process, one must realize that thinking devices already represent a notable strategy of the arts, and that such devices, engendered by new media, are gradually incorporated by contemporary architects.

title Representação do Patrimônio e gráficos conceituais: residências na Serra Gaúcha, Brasil [Representation of heritage and concept maps: houses in Serra Gaucha, Brazil]
source SIGraDi 2010_Proceedings of the 14th Congress of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics, pp. Bogotá, Colombia, November 17-19, 2010, pp. 355-357
summary This paper studies houses built between 1930 and 1970 in southern Brazil. It is a large collection of projects, which has been systematized for publishing on a website and in digital media. The aim is to discuss the form of organization and systematization of this collection, which involved the construction of conceptual digital graphics. It emphasized the adoption of the concepts of type and model in the organization of the collection, which required a formal abstraction of the objects. The construction of conceptual graphics proved to be an effective tool in the process of abstraction. Moreover, such graphics have become more didactic material, enabling a better understanding of the universe studied.

title Patrimônio e mídia interativa: as residências modernas na Serra Gaúcha_Brasil [Heritage and interactive media: moder homes at Serra Gaucha in Brazil]
source SIGraDi 2010_Proceedings of the 14th Congress of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics, pp. Bogotá, Colombia, November 17-19, 2010, pp. 351-354
summary This article presents the results of a study that is being carried out at the University of Caxias do Sul, Brazil. The goal of the study is to publicize a collection of the modern architecture in southern Brazil through interactive media on a web portal. This study presents the development of a digital media to publicize a collection composed of single - family houses, for a total of two - hundred - and - fifteen residences that are organized by city and decade, from 1930 to 1970. The buildings of each decade are analyzed in terms of their language and compositional features. It also presents brief biographies of the architects, engineers and builders involved in the construction.

title Projeto Design Condensado: níveis de inteligência associados ao sistema colaborativo dinâmico de visualização de dados [Design project condensed: levels of intelligence associated with the dynamic collaborative system of data visualization]
source SIGraDi 2010_Proceedings of the 14th Congress of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics, pp. Bogotá, Colombia, November 17-19, 2010, pp. 252-255
summary The “Condensed Design Project” aims to discuss and reflect on how the levels of auxiliary intelligence associated with dynamic collaborative systems of data visualization can help research, organize, manage, analyze and compare dense data amounts of historical facts and events. The main objective is to understand how systems endowed with “auxiliary intelligence” help to assimilate and emulate methods and knowledge of different researchers, and at the same time are able to promote cooperation and research, as well as the study and teaching of design history. And finally, it describes the experience of the use of “specialist system” and “reasoning system based on cases” concepts.
