title A representaç?o do espaço de arquitetura por meio de dispositivos táteis: uma revis?o conceitual e tecnológica [The representation of architectural space through haptic devices: a conceptual and technological review]
source SIGraDi 2016 [Proceedings of the 20th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-7051-86-1] Argentina, Buenos Aires 9 - 11 November 2016, pp.561-566
summary This study presents preliminary results of an experiment of production and use of tactile models to explain the form of an architectural space for visually impaired people. As part of a literature review, it explores the digital manufacturing technologies such as laser cutting and 3D printing to generate representations. The review uses a case study representing a house-museum and the experiments are based on a partnership with a school for a visually impaired people. The collaborative process has contributed to learning and explanation of multi-sensory characteristics of the constructed spaces and reinforced the need for a revision of educational processes for the architectural project regarding the habit of prioritizing essentially the aesthetic and visual aspects. The universal design concept gives grounds for each action.

title Projeto Simultâneo: A formaç?o do profissional contemporâneo e o mercado da construç?o civil [Simultaneous Design: The formation of the contemporary professional and construction market]
source SIGraDi 2016 [Proceedings of the 20th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-7051-86-1] Argentina, Buenos Aires 9 - 11 November 2016, pp.188-193
summary This research investigates the adequacy of the contemporary professional formation to professional practice in the construction market. The work investigates the teaching of building and structures design in schools of architecture and civil engineering in Belo Horizonte. There is evidence that the use of contemporary information technology such as BIM (Building Information Modeling) enables integrated teaching of architecture and engineering, allowing simultaneous work. The hypothesis is that there is a mismatch between contemporary teaching and practice and methodological changes seeking simultaneous practice, respond adequately to contemporary assumptions of learning. The confirmation of this hypothesis subsidizes developments for future research.

summary This article aims to disseminate the concept of "geoinclusion" for the iberoamerican scientific community. This concept was created in 2007 by the ‘GIS Laboratory’ of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) to operationalize the "crowdthinking" through Geographic Information Systems (specially the web and mobile versions). Ever since, it was tested by educational, health, safety and environment sectors and the result was the creation and continuous improvement of the web plataform VICON.SAGA. The paper will demonstrate its four fundamental principles of knowledge construction: decentralization, authenticity, integration and resilience.

summary This article describes the methods of an inclusive design project developed by FACAMP’s NIEDA , as demanded by the UNICAMP Science Museum (Brazil). The objective was to create a multi-sensorial interface that would be capable of describing the process of energy generation and distribution in a hydro-power plant. It began with a scheme based on images and a narration was built out of audible and tactile systems so that it would be comprehensible for the blind public as well, without compromising the aesthetic and informative aspects. It also reveals the challenge of combining the use of multiple technological resources, such as 3D printing and laser cutting.

source SIGraDi 2016 [Proceedings of the 20th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-7051-86-1] Argentina, Buenos Aires 9 - 11 November 2016, pp.42-49
summary This paper deals with geometric update strategies of cobogós, aiming to expand its energy efficiency based on material computation, a design approach that seeks to achieve greater architectural performance through the investigation of material properties, comprising four aspects that structure the paper: materiality, material structure, material performance and materialisation. Analysis in ceramic, the most common material in the manufacturing of cobogós, showed voronoi microstructure geometry in the material. Incorporating this logic to the development of a new geometry of cobogó results a slight increase of its thermal performance comparing with commercial cobogós.

title Parametric 3d wind loading on hemispheric dome structures
source SIGraDi 2016 [Proceedings of the 20th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-7051-86-1] Argentina, Buenos Aires 9 - 11 November 2016, pp.638-644
summary Within the visual programming platforms in parametric design, it has not yet available with effective integration the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation systems. This coupling would be particularly useful in relation to the modeling of structures subjected to wind loads in a parametric and algorithmically programmed scenario. It is proposed in this work a parametric modeling of the distribution of wind loads on the surface of a hemispherical dome structure surface. From a combination of wind speed, internal and external pressure coefficient, dimensions of the building, topography and roughness of the terrain. It were defined the magnitude and direction of a field of distributed normal forces on the surface of the hemispherical dome and some results were obtained.
