summary This article analyses the possibilities of expansion of the museum's exhibition space for the urban environment and the new relationships through the development of digital maps and augmented reality geolocated layers. The case study is the Guide of Nomadic Monuments (Guia dos Monumentos Nômades) organized for the exhibition Memory of Amnesia (Memória da Amnésia) that discussed the movement and displacement of statues through the last decades in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The experience of the project is presented from the point of view of the methodological design research, thinking the interface of the city as a backdrop for several experimentations with art collections.

summary In Brazil, the application of wood in contemporary constructions is concentrated in the south and southeast. However, the entire country has area for cultivation and forest management, which is favorable for expansion in such applications. Wood is capable of absorbing CO2 and consumes little energy in production and manufacturing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the deficiencies of the building typologies became evident. This research aims to analyze digitally executed prefabricated houses such as Instant House (1), Digitally Fabricated House (2) by Sass, and WikiHouse (3) by Parvin; under the categories of Cardoso (2016): modulation, reversibility, and flexibility. The deductive method was used to investigate assumptions among the three case studies; and grounded in scientific literature to analyze and collect data. In general, the solutions studied enabled customizable systems allied to wood panels, modules, and fittings as generators of architectural form.

title The Expansion of Virtual Landscape in Digital Games: Classification of Virtual Landscapes Through Five principles

summary This research established classification system which contains five principles and variables to classify the types of the virtual landscape in digital games. The principles of the classification are Story, Space Shape, Space and Action Dimension, User Complexity and Interaction Level. With this classification system, our research group found the most representative types of virtual landscape in the digital game market through 1996 to 2016. Although mathematically there can be 288 types of virtual landscape, only 68 types have been used in the game market in recent twenty years. Among the 68 types, we defined 3 types of virtual landscape as the most representative types based on the growth curve and a number of cases. Those three representative types of virtual landscapes are Generating / Face / 3D-3D / Single / Partial, Providing / Chain / 3D-3D / Single / Partial and Providing / Linear / 2D-2D / Single / Partial. With the result, the researchers will be able to establish the virtual landscape design framework for the future research.

summary This article presents a study for the structure of Palmas Cathedral, designed by architect Paulo Henrique Paranhos. The goal is to gather a set of parametric modeling and rapid prototyping techniques, aiming the efficiency and automation of parts of the design and fabrication process for the steel truss that constitutes the coverage of the project in question. It discusses the expansion of the architect’s work field. Once the professional holds the application of advanced technologies focusing on construction and manufacturing, will be able to take responsibility for parts of the engineering design.

summary This paper describe a case study of the processes necessary for adapting digital modeling, developed in the academic context, to enable interactive visualization with the use of digital games engine. For this, was used a three-dimensional model developed by a student in an academic exercise of architectural design. The adequacy of digital modeling has been tested with the use of three software, SketchUp, 3DS Max and Maya LT, and the game engine Unreal Engine 4. This study intended to contribute to the expansion of options and analysis of academic visualization projects.

summary Recent expansion of the cycling routes in S?o Paulo sparked questions about the currently used method and the possibilities to have a functional network in the urban grid. We recognize the potential use of digital processes in city production, which can collaborate with architectural and urban design methods in order to make it more effective. This paper aims to discuss and present methodological procedures such as Diagram of Voronoi and Minimal Paths System, approaches that combined with new technologies and digital processes can achieve more assertive results of analysis and design for the expansion of non-motorized transportation in S?o Paulo.

summary The practice of generative modeling had a great expansion in recent years and great potential linking systems and software in order to increase the optimized production of their morphologies. In this panorama, BIM processes has a great impact in maintaining consistency between the data generated, the coordination process and the object constructability. This paper presents an analysis of different cases with algorithms applied in different optimization goals proposing an analysis feature of interaction between models and predicting the possibility of structuring a dynamic and interoperable process.

summary This paper attempts to demonstrate a seamless transformable material system through an interdependent designed assembly of two materials with different material properties (anisotropic knit textile and isotropic silicone) but similar behaviors (stretch). The transformable system is achieved by balancing the volumetric expansion through a silicone tube, under inflation, with the controlled resistance to stretch by a custom knit fabric. The use of a CNC knitting machine allows not only an opportunity to program the stretch behavior of a knit fabric, by controlling the amount of yarn material to be deposited, but also an ability to knit multiple layers of fabric simultaneously, in order to create a space capable of accommodating an external element seamlessly. The paper will showcase a series of experiments ranging from the initial search for compatible material combinations to the varied structures of the tube sleeve and its relationship with surrounding region. The final prototype attempts to utilize the various behavioral properties of the material system learned from the experiments to create a transformable three-dimensional structure.
