title Da Prototipagem ao DIY: Criação de mobiliário de baixo custo a partir de modelagem e fabricação digitais [From Prototyping to DIY: Creating low-cost furniture from digital modeling and manufacturing]
source SIGraDi 2017 [Proceedings of the 21th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-227-439-5] Chile, Concepción 22 - 24 November 2017, pp.393-397
summary This paper discusses the potential of digital fabrication for assisting people in building low cost furniture. It is analyzed what motivates people to join the “Do-it-Yourself” culture, and proposes the construction of a desk from reused materials, combined with joints and components that are digitally designed and become available online. Finally, the paper discusses the possibilities of digital fabrication to adapt to a context that is not inserted in the industrial environment and highlights the research potentials to increase the user autonomy.

title Programação em plataforma BIM e a Norma de Desempenho Brasileira: Desenvolvimento de uma aplicação para estimativa de performance acústica em projetos arquitetônicos [BIM platform programming and Brazilian Performance Standard: Development of an application to estimate acoustic performance in architectural design]
source SIGraDi 2017 [Proceedings of the 21th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-227-439-5] Chile, Concepción 22 - 24 November 2017, pp.423-428
summary The Brazilian Performance Standard (NBR 15.575/2013 – Housing Buildings – Performance) is changing the design process of residential buildings, imposing new acoustic performance criteria. In this Context, the present paper proposes the programming of a Revit plug-in for verifying sound insulation of walls between environments, collecting information of the building’s model from a parameter database, calculating values of the elements’ sound reduction index and allowing to ponder constructive systems’ performance. The application aims to amplify productivity of designers and to provide greater control over technological solutions, assisting in the compliance with performance criteria.

title Plug-ins State of Art in BIM Software: Repositories Assessment and Professional Use Perspective
source Gülen Çagdas, Mine Özkar, Leman F. Gül and Ethem Gürer (Eds.) Future Trajectories of Computation in Design [17th International Conference, CAAD Futures 2017, Proceedings / ISBN 978-975-561-482-3] Istanbul, Turkey, July 12-14, 2017, pp. 309-320.
summary The increased need for optimization in design processes has led BIM software users to customize their projects by the use of programming and external applications. This paper presents the state of art of Revit plug-ins by means of an explorative, quantitative study of current repositories and the proposition of a categorization system to identify to which purposes the tools are being developed. Then, through a questionnaire to AEC professionals, assessment on the use and necessity of the tools is made by comparing the user experience with the proposed state of art categories.

title Parametric Modeling as Record of Memory of Vernacular Boats
source Gomez, P and Braida, F (eds.), Designing Possibilities - Proceedings of the XXV International Conference of the Ibero-American Society of Digital Graphics (SIGraDi 2021), Online, 8 - 12 November 2021, pp. 657–668
summary This work seeks to continue the research started in 2017 about the triangle boat type, based on the traditional models of the municipality of Icapuí in Ceará / Brazil. The intention is to expand and refine the research, analyzing the construction process and the typology of the boats. For this, it is proposed to define a typology and a shape grammar of the boats and implement, in a digitally-based system, a formalized language. The methodology adopted in this work starts from a knowledge construction process following the Design Science Research strategy. The main result is an in-depth analysis of the description and representation of a vernacular design of the triangle boats. The documentation approach using parametric modeling offers great contributions to the memory and cultural heritage preservation, since an algorithmic description is able to retain information pertaining to both the material and immaterial part of the artifact.

title O projeto integrado e o processo de projeto em BIM - aplicação e normas brasileiras [The integrated project and the design process in BIM - Brazilian application and standards]
source SIGraDi 2017 [Proceedings of the 21th Conference of the Iberoamerican Society of Digital Graphics - ISBN: 978-956-227-439-5] Chile, Concepción 22 - 24 November 2017, pp.429-433
summary The advent of BIM in the AECO industry brings with it profound transformations in the design process. These changes are necessary to meet the requirements of the current project market and make the traditional design process into an integrated design process. Although the advantages obtained from this practice, new job functions and standardization of communication must be embraced to ensure its success. This work presents the conception of the integrated project in BIM with its practices related to the PDP and identifies the evolution of the norms of aid to the realization of projects in BIM in Brazil.

title “Houses for everybody” Brazilian competition - An application of shape grammar and space syntax for analyzing low-income housing
doi https://doi.org/10.52842/conf.ecaade.2017.2.463
source Fioravanti, A, Cursi, S, Elahmar, S, Gargaro, S, Loffreda, G, Novembri, G, Trento, A (eds.), ShoCK! - Sharing Computational Knowledge! - Proceedings of the 35th eCAADe Conference - Volume 2, Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy, 20-22 September 2017, pp. 463-470
summary This article focuses on the use of both shape grammar and space syntax as tools to identify and encode the principles and rules behind the design of low-income housing in Brazilian context. The idea is to use such rules as part of a methodology for analyzing quality space in social housing plans and aims to understand to which attributes of contemporary society redefine certain patterns of familial social conduct, particularly their ways of living and how these attributes impact housing spatial patterns.king this paragraph.
