In design studio, during the preliminary stage of a project, learning architectural
concepts through the study of precedents is a common activity. A few
computer-based tools for precedent study have been developed, however, most
have focused on delivering information without considering aspects of learning
concepts. Although the tools apply digital media, such as hypermedia and
multimedia, their instructional method is limited to direct instruction for presentation
of information. The design and development of the tools neglect the need of the
study of concept learning, learners, and learning methods. |
