summary |
We focus on portions of the constructive geometry of early Hindu temple cellas from western India, the use of massing technologies in SEED-Config, a rule based generative modeller and the spaces of cella designs engendered by such descriptions. We introduce the basic cella form and present two technology sets in detail, Anga and Sikhara, based on canonical geometric relations in two dimensions and demonstrate the use of these relations in three dimensions. Finally, we propose research directions and draw lessons from our experience in the writing of domain specific descriptions. |
