summary |
According to AI techniques, spatial reasoning is seen in construction as generation and solving of goals involving a spatial representation model of buildings defining a rich taxonomy of parts and elements, and spatial relationships between these parts and elements. The authors define spatial representation model and spatial relationship from previous experiments in architect knowledge representation and automated surveying. The aim is to enable very abstract and short descriptions of building component assemblies, from designers at drawing-boards or from workers on sites, which can be processed and transformed in basic geometrical properties |
