As the scope of automation in conatruction extends widely with various aproaches, it was extremely difficult to limit to only seven papers. The editor would like to express his appreciation to Prof. Shigeyuki Obayashi, Science University of Tokyo and Dr Kazuhiko Arai, Kajaima Co. for their efforts in selecting these papers.
