Building construction is a kind of complex process that integrates activities regarding design, materials, personnel and equipments. Information systems that describe building construction need to represent both the spatial information of the building design and the temporal information of construction plan. We classify four levels of integration for spatiotemporal information in building construction. We consider that the classification is important for the guidance of our research for that it distinguishes levels of complexity and applicability of data models that integrates spatiotemporal information. A prototype system is developed and tested for providing us a means to gain more insights to the problem. |
