summary |
Versatile Bracketry is an architectural experiment employing algorithmic design technology and 3D printing, manipulating Gong-po—a wooden bracket element found in traditional Korean architecture. Although there has been some recognition and reflection toward the inclusion of traditional forms in modern design, the mainstream in Korean architecture has been Western-oriented. However, advanced computation technology provides both a new perspective and approach in this field, and higher productivity and efficiency. |
