This project aims to renew the role of ornament in architecture through a close reading of the relationship between the site of the Alhambra and the city of Granada. The design research layers three surveys of the Nasrid Kingdom’s legacy in the region: the multifarious ornament embedded in the walls of the Alhambra—as both ornament and decorations— and the cistern infrastructure embedded in the ground of Granada. |
