summary |
Climate change is not a theoretical construct that might affect future generations; it is happening now. Wildfires, drought, and extreme temperatures are occurring throughout the world, and are projected to get worse. These environmental changes affect all species on this planet. Due to the overwhelming, depressing, and complex subject matter that is climate change, people can feel apathetic or tune out when it is being discussed, in addition to having feelings of hopelessness surrounding the future. These feelings are categorized as eco-anxiety (Ágoston et al. 2022, 1-3). |
