summary |
Artificial images are created through models that learn from vast datasets of text, images, or a combination of both. By assimilating and understanding this substantial information, the models acquire the ability to generate new images based on provided inputs or descriptions. Artificial images change how we approach and conceptualize design by extending human intuition and connecting it to the archived knowledge of others before us (relating it both to wise and obsolete traditions of humanity). They redefine the role of the architect, transforming them into curators and co-designers operating within a network of interconnected human and non-human agencies. They serve as new design tools that enhance our cognitive abilities, expanding our repertoire in communicating and visualizing ideas in an automated manner. Their rapid generation enables us to shift our focus from the demands of notational design communication to the more meaningful task of reflecting on urgent matters and pressing issues. |
