summary |
The present paper proposes a set of guidelines for the implementation of digital fabrication laboratories for education and research in architecture schools. These guidelines are based on authors´ experiences in creating two of such laboratories, one in Brazil and another one in Portugal. They are also based on visits to existing labs throughout the world and interviews with their coordinators. The objective is to help architecture schools plan new facilities or run recently established ones. For this reason, the chapter will be organized in topics and will include a checklist and some specific examples of equipment, software and results, as well as cost estimations. The issues addressed will include various aspects. |
