The Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A.E.C.) industry has recently witnessed various innovations, notably integrating Digital Design (D.D.) processes in the industry's workflow. Unfortunately, Africa has been excluded from exploring this development due to its perception as a developing region still reliant on traditional construction methods. This review aims to investigate the trend of Digital Construction (D.C.) in Africa by categorizing several projects based on several data points, including project period, typology, scale, curvature type, and location. A statistical overview of the data will provide a quantitative understanding of D.C. projects in the continent. Furthermore, the study will conduct a literature-based comparative analysis between D.C. projects in Africa. Finally, the review will focus on a select few case studies for in-depth analysis. The expected outcome of this analysis is a comprehensive understanding of the trend and motivation behind D.C. in Africa. |
