summary |
The purpose of this paper is to show the results of a collaborative effort between faculty who are involved in teaching design communications in such a way as to develop the students’ cognitive visualization skills yet incorporating the computer as partner in this training. The paper describes what will be called “The Third Eye Method”, an alternative to traditional methods, which has been tested against traditional methods among freshman students. The findings suggest that computer usage is not in itself the source of the visualization problems that students appear to be having, but the solution to the problem. |
