Methods of identifying, assessing, reducing the number of causes of noise, and counteracting noise (potential vibrational acoustic signal sources, the identification and location of the sources, noise propagation over terrain, working conditions) in the neighborhood of a lignite strip mine are presented. On the basis of noise measurements and an assessment of the propagation conditions, the obtained results are analyzed against a background of environmental noise arduousness standards. Conclusions and guidelines relating to further material-design optimization efforts are given. |
