summary |
This paper summarises existing technologies for both visual and physical prototyping of buildings. It recounts the R+D carried out in the ABACUS Group at the University of Strathclyde to secure the seamless transition of a digital prototype for a building from a PC model to a Virtual Environment Laboratory, for interactive immersive viewing, and subsequently to a Rapid Prototyping facility, for the creation of a physical scale model. Examples are drawn from architecture practice and from architectural education.. |
