summary |
The advent of digital tools and technologies has provided designers with the ability to create in complexities and volumes of unprecedented scale. Thus, perhaps the designer has also become prone to the paradox of choice than ever before, at a time which the decision-making process of the designer is increasing in its significance due to the near-limitless possibilities of design. Mass-tailorisation aims to aid the decision-making process of the designer in a world of unprecedented possibilities but of limited practicalities of reality by narrowing the viable solutions through non-critical design contexts and biases. Mass-tailorisation begins as a reaction to mass-customisation, however, through the aid of digital continuum and the pursuit of the Move 37 phenomenon, mass-tailorisation aims to aid the designer of the modern times. |
