summary With the rapid advancement of architectural informatics, the integration of augmented reality (AR) and generative AI models, such as Stable Diffusion, demonstrates significant potential in revitalizing urban interfaces. This is especially critical in the post-pandemic era, where traditional streetscapes and physical economies face increasing challenges of decline. This study presents an innovative system that combines AR and generative AI technologies to enable real-time visualization of stylized architectural facade elements within actual urban streets. By employing detailed scanning and reconstruction of street scenes, the system optimizes generative models to produce virtual elements that align aesthetically and functionally with diverse urban environments. Users can experience these virtual enhancements through lightweight AR devices in real-world settings. The results indicate that the combination of AR and Stable Diffusion enhances the vibrancy and aesthetic appeal of urban interfaces while fostering increased public interaction. This study offers a novel design approach for integrating virtual and physical elements into future urban facades. Future work will focus on improving the system’s real-time performance and user interaction experience to better serve urban design and planning disciplines.
