summary |
Self-awareness is essential for adolescents, helping them recognize their potential, talents, and interests. The Montessori Erdkinder program for ages 12-18 focuses on activities that build 21st-century skills. Effective, enjoyable learning depends not only on teaching but also on an environment that supports positive emotions. Neuroarchitecture, which designs spaces to enhance well-being, supports this goal. Integrating technology like VR can further engage adolescents, immersing them in various Montessori-inspired activities. The primary goal of this research is to create a VR environment using neuroarchitecture principles to introduce activities aligned with the Montessori curriculum, helping adolescents quickly discover their talents and interests. The research used a multifaceted approach: first, a literature review on VR technology, neuroarchitecture, and 21st-century skills; next, a survey using a VR prototype; and finally, design explorations to refine the virtual environment. The research resulted in a virtual space called “Coconut Coast Learning” designed with a neuroarchitecture approach to offer activities that foster applied skills, particularly 21st-century skills. The research culminates in virtual space to support skill development, help youth build self-awareness, and realize their potential, especially in applied skills. Findings highlight the positive emotional effects of neuroarchitecture-based virtual environments, demonstrating that neuroarchitecture principles can enhance virtual learning spaces. |
