summary |
Urban environment is a “sensible” space; it can manifest itself to our senses through the process of perception. The comprehension of the relation between man and his environment requires a study of spatial perception and its modes of interpretation. This paper proposes to study the perception by using the Virtual Reality (VR) technologies as a tool of qualitative analysis. The study presents an exploratory analysis of visual perception in a real urban path and its virtual modeling. It shows the potentials of virtual environments in the qualitative assessment of urban spaces. |
