summary |
This paper deals with an important aspect concerning the quality of a computer aided design (CAD) program, namely the human-computer interface. To fix the ideas, the user interface of FORCE, a program for the design and visualisation of cable nets and trusses, is considered The new design of this user interface was necessary to support an easy extension of the dialogue, both alpha-numerical and graphical. The new approach includes a separation of the interaction procedures and the application modules.
