summary
For at least 1000 years humankind represented existing and intended building by simple two-dimensional plans and elevations. In the Renaissance, a new-found capability with pen and paper allowed the representation or perspective geometry. These paper-based perspective views, together with plan and elevations, served architects and their clients for the best part of the next 300 years.
