summary |
In this lecture, I will describe the history of how cities have become the focus for visualization, for developing new ideas and tools as well as for demonstrating their wider applicability to design and policy-making processes. There are many variants on this theme of visualizing cities and I will attempt to set these in context as well as describing some of the challenges to the field which will dictate the research agenda in the coming years. |
