This paper presents the results of a workshop which took place in Rio de Janeiro and gathered Brazilian and international exchange students with tutors from eight universities located in Latin America and Europe. The design process highlighted the advantages and limitations of the communication between the tutors, educated with traditional tools and students who enter at the university already familiar with digital tools. The manipulation of images assumes a primary position, particularly in an environment based on several foreign languages. However, this process also exposed the limitations of images to represent the essence of the place. |
