This work outlines the theoretical and methodological framework for the development of analytical rudiments contributing to the registry, cartography and quantification of the urban phenomenon understood not as urban space perception but rather, as human beings perception within urban space. It argues that this approach to urban studies is part of a scarcely explored lineage within the field of urban analysis. One that, much in the same way as the widely used topological/ structural approach, reveals key quantifiable information, mainly, in terms of real or effective density and therefore, of high value for the design of micro and meso urban scales. |
