The "Laboratory for Automation and prototyping for architecture and construction" is a digital fabrication lab at the University of Campinas open to students from the Architecture, Civil Engineering and Mechanic Engineering programs. Since its opening in 2007 the lab has developed many strategies to deal with the complexity of its management. The purpose of this paper is to share this experience with other similar facilities. Issues such as resources, supplies, maintenance of machines, managing appointments and other activities are described and discussed, base don the experience of one of a student monitor of the lab. |
