summary

The development of the Santa Catarina Island 3D model illustrated a successful integration of different research elaborated by several groups from the PGAU-Cidade Post-Graduate Program at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The model displayed a superposition of different urban data at the 3D model topography. Data mapped varied from ecosystems, housing divided by social groups, geomorphology, environmetal protected areas and cultural highlight áreas. One of the research target is a design proposal for public parks that could create continuos areas to connect different ecosystems of the island, focusing on áreas of cultural interest for the city dwellers.
