summary |
The Space Syntax Theory (SST) has been taught at the Bartlett School of Postgraduate Studies at UCL as a tool for architects to explore the relationship between spatial configuration and social form. It has also been used as a design tool to explore and understand, during the design process, possible effects of design ideas on people interaction with space. However the introduction of SST in the first stage of architectural training as a learning resource for developing spatial configuration abilities has not been explored in detail yet. This paper is going to discuss an experience of training architectural students using the SST. |
