The tourism is one of the most profitable sectors in the world. Recently, the scientific community has been developing applications using the concepts of mobile and ubiquitous computing in this area of tourism. In this perspective, in the present article we propose a Ubiquitous Tourist Guide that is context-aware. Among the context information used, we highlight tourists’ profiles, their needs and restrictions. We developed a general model of an Electronic Tourist Guide and a specific prototype for the Caminhos de Pedra itinerary, a touristic region in the city of Bento Gonçalves in the Rio Grande do Sul state. |
