| summary |
This paper describes a design experiment of a reception desk. Automated procedures were used in the process: a parametric design generated the form and connections. Computer models and physical prototypes were produced in order to develop construction details and preview results. We compared this exercise with the method used to design Aviva Stadium in Dublin. It was possible to conclude that the use of a generative method along with automated procedures did not restrict creativity, allowing the quick exploration of multiple design alternatives. |
