Mass customization, which may lead to greater variety of architectural solutions, seems to be a concept mostly unknown and
difficult to grasp or hard to believe by many. We argue in this paper that education may have a rule to play in bringing about a better
understanding of these among students and professionals. We show here the results of a survey on people’s beliefs about mass
standardization and mass customization and a comparative study of students’ design projects produced under a certain pedagogical
strategy and how these might be influenced by their education. |
