During the 21st century, the figure of the elderly is increasingly central in society. It is important to promote the relationship between generations to support active and more balanced aging in the city center, without age segregation (like specific geriatric equipment), thus allowing a natural human renewal of cities, without the expulsion of younger generations to the suburbs, and the institutionalization of older people. This article will focus on some integrative experimental models of universal design combining Portuguese legislation on Residential Structures for the Elderly, Assisted Living and the Housing Law based on trends revealed by Social Support Satisfaction and Quality of Life surveys WHOQOL- BREF – WHO to this group, generating architectural design solutions through the Grammar of Form that integrate that legislation, in order to transform the paradigm of inclusive design and Housing in Portugal, into an increasingly tangible and accessible reality for everyone. |
