summary |
The BIM approach in architectural element modeling has been working to achieving increasingly higher levels of detail. We report an exercise in modeling a component of a historical building (HBIM), aimed at understanding the possibilities of using this approach in a specific architectural education context. We started from the extraction of information acquired through digital photogrammetry of a single constructive element, to be associated with the exploration of use and generation of parametric components that shape it. It concerns a door of a mansion dating back to 1878. The exercise results enhance the documentation of the element as require scientific investigation to advance in levels of detail and, above all, reinforce the importance of applying the contemporary approach of addressing cultural heritage through the principles of distinctiveness, reversibility, and ethical gap filling in digital modeling, which can be enhanced by the HBIM approach. |
