summary |
Challenges in the documentation, evaluation, preservation, and management of architectural heritage, including cultural landscapes, are complex due to historic buildings' unique characteristics and cultural value. Integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has emerged as a solution to overcome these challenges. This study focuses on managing Oscar Niemeyer's Pampulha Complex using the integration of Historic Building Information Modeling (HBIM) and GIS to evaluate its effectiveness in heritage management. Photogrammetry, 3D scanning, and semantic modeling allowed a thorough understanding of the architectural features of historic buildings. However, data loss and the need to establish standards are challenges to overcome for effective integration. The results demonstrate that interoperability between BIM and GIS is essential for successfully managing this heritage, allowing detailed analysis and efficient conservation of the historical and cultural features of the Pampulha protection area. |
