This paper presents partial results of a master's degree research carried out at PPGEES at UFMS, Campo Grande, Brazil. The research aims to explore the mass customization of architectural elements in social housing projects, through parametric design and BIM. This research purposes as a background, the Brazilian social housing and its deficit, which is not only quantitative, but also qualitative with an enormous demand for low-income families. The research also is based on the development of a frame replacement workflow that seeks to enable greater flexibility in the design process, bringing more quality to these houses. Thus, the paper aims to explore the potential of parametric modeling and BIM software programs and their possible contributions in the social interest housing programs through the proposed workflow. |
