summary |
In a search for more sustainable materials, fungi have proven increasingly effective as a new building material. Mycelium composites are part of this discussion and experimentation. This research discusses the construction of a pavilion in a shell shape made of wooden construction elements filled with mycelium-hemp substrate. This paper explores how the fungus can work in symbiosis with other biomaterials, observing its behavior in two growth phases. The first growth phase took place in a temperature and humidity-controlled lab environment. The second phase was about testing the further growth behavior in an outdoor environment with a relatively wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. |
