title AiMotional Ecosystems: An Affective Computing Pedagogical Framework for Generating Emotionally Responsive Environments
source Herrera, Pablo C., Gómez, Paula, Estevez, Alberto T., Torreblanca-Díaz, David A. summary This paper introduces an affective computing pedagogical framework that devises generative responses based on the detection, interpretation, and analysis of human emotional and physiological states. Based on the process and outcomes of a pedagogical approach in a senior undergraduate course in advanced architectural computing, students developed responsive environments with varying inputs, process and outputs based on a set of defined emotional states. We analyzed the process and outcomes with regards to emotion interpretation methods, the selected emotional trigger, the user context, methods of implementation, the process of abstraction and translation, the intent and setting, user evaluation and feedback, and innovation and creativity, and propose an affective computing pedagogical framework for generating emotionally responsive environments.
