At the forefront of the intersection between technology and creativity, Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a catalyst for overcoming the challenges inherent to creative processes. This study delves into the exploration of the impact of AI on the architectural design process, elucidating the potential of AI to mitigate creative blocks, a common phenomenon among architectural professionals that can severely hinder project conceptualization and planning (Cropley, 2006). Through a comparative methodology between traditional design and AI-assisted design, the results reveal a focus on ideas related to the aesthetic aspect of a project, which suggests a promising direction towards focused thinking and deep concept development. While AI tools facilitate focused attention towards specific ideas, promoting deep development of them; it could also limit cognitive flexibility, an essential element for creative thinking. |
